Highly recommend!! I have a 15 year old, 9 year old and a 7 year old who all have laptops, iPads and iPhones. I have set up parental controls, but I understand those only go so far. After learning from a morning radio podcast that the average age children are being exposed to porn for the first time is between 8-11, I realized the best thing to do was have a discussion. Without this book, I'm not exactly sure where I would've started. Let's face it-- it's not the most comfortable conversation you're going to have with your kids. So it helps to have something to refer to.I really like the no-shame approach the author takes. It's so much more than just "don't watch or look at porn." It gave my children a real understanding about the brain and its natural response to pornography, how it can affect you if you look at it, and how to be prepared when you do come across it (since, let's face it... it's gonna happen at some point).It says the recommended age is 8+, but I involved my 7 year old in our conversation and he fully understood.Another thing I would like to point out, is that even if you haven't had the talk about the "birds & the bees", this book is still for you. It didn't raise any questions about sex, which I could appreciate since we're not quite ready to have that discussion with our younger ones. The reason why it doesn't go there, is because it doesn't go into detail about what is involved in pornagraphic videos- it simply describes pornography as "pictures, videos or even cartoons of people with little or no clothes on".

I just finished reading "Good Pictures Bad Pictures" with my 7-year-old daughter. At the end of each chapter, she wanted to dictate her notes to me and have me record them in the book. I thought you might get a kick out of her notes. As you can see, she missed the boat slightly in some areas, but some of her comments show impressive maturity and comprehension. Also, she is adorable.“You can’t look at pornography. If someone offers to show you a picture, just ask what it’s about and if it’s a surprise just don’t look at it.Addiction make you start lying to your family and friends. And you must not try things you could be addicted to once. And you can joke about things you might be addicted to like, ‘I’m addicted to Dippin’ Dots.’ Cuz Dippin’ Dots are good.My feeling brain makes me thirsty and decide what to eat and also rewards me for what I do right. But if I start to do pornography my feeling brain might start to reward me for it. But if I’m smart enough to not feel rewarded then my feeling brain will make me feel bad for looking at pornography.I learned to try to not get addicted to stuff like pornography or drinking or smoking or taking yummy pills even if I don’t need them. The more I use my thinking brain, the stronger it gets. Even if I’m about to look at pornography, my thinking brain says, “No!” If I’m doing my math homework my thinking brain gets stronger about pornography.I learned to leave my thinking brain in charge and let my feeling brain help me know what I want to do unless I’m spoiled. If I want to run into the street, I don’t have to get there immediately. Say I just got home from “Color Me Mine” and I run across the street without stopping to think. I might get hit by a car, or, more luckily, almost hit by a car.I learned not to take drugs. Drugs will probably make you get pictures of pornography and trick people into looking at them even if they don’t want to. Drugs can make you lie about whether something is pornography. If you’re watching your favorite movie, there might be some pornography in it.When your brain starts looking at pornography, it starts to make its own kind of drug. After you finish pornography, you stop having the drug that your brain makes. After the drug stops, you feel pain. Some people take drugs only to feel better. Instead of doing drugs or pornography, do something you like. If you still feel unhappy DO NOT TAKE DRUGS. Just wait. Do not take drugs. Just like go outside and lay on the grass. I tried it once and it really helped.”

This book describes how the brain is impacted by ‘porn use’ in a way that even a child can understand.I personally sought out this book for my 6-year when he tearfully reported seeing naked people on a 6 year-old friend’s phone. I have always been a fan of Eric Carle books, and this was no exception.We have the whole series! My son's favorite is Brown Bear but he likes a lot this too.This book, like the others, is interactive and rhythmic, you can introduce the names of the animals and the sounds they make. Children learn easily colors, what sounds each animal makes and even counting how many characters are in the book. The illustrations are so unique and eye catching, the colors are bright, the pages are sturdy and the story holds their attention.The book finishes with a summary of all that the children have seen.The hard board book is easy to hold and very durable.A must have

This book is a lot like Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See (by the same authors), but much more colorful and beautiful. It feels a little redundant if you already have Brown Bear, but if you're choosing between the two I would pick this one. The animals are a little lesser-known so it may not be quite as helpful as a teaching tool, but the illustrations are much nicer and I like the story a bit more too.

My now two year old son has enjoyed the "...what do you see/hear" books since he was around 9 months old. They have helped him with identifying and naming animals and the repetition and rhythm of the book helps him anticipate what is next and he gets excited. This book has also helped with learning action words that we act out sometimes in order to increase his vocabulary and add a bit more fun into reading. Highly recommended!

I bought this because my toddler loves the "Brown Bear" book. The pictures are nice in this one as well. The words do not flow off the tongue as easy as Brown Bear. My toddler likes the pictures and will continue to use it.

Great board book in Eric Carle's collection. I bought this for a panda themed baby shower. It was a great book to add to the other panda -themed items I bought for the shower for my sister in law.I can't wait to read this to my new niece!!!!The book arrived quickly from the seller, and it was in perfect condition.

To say my 9 month old loves this book would be an understatement! She gets so excited when she sees you pull it out. It's beautifully illustrated and we love the fact that it focuses on endangered animals. Love, love, love!!

If your child is obsessed with brown bear, brown bear, they will love this! We have all four (Brown Bear; Baby Bear; Polar Bear; and this) and my now four year old still wants to read them almost every day. He "reads" them to me and I am not sick of them at all. So cute!

This book is a mess. The flow of reading it is so choppy with way too many syllables. They should have just stuck to basic animals and colors like on Brown Bear Brown Bear.

I am the type who needs to see the big picture and this book is very clear cut and gives you that big picture. It is very clear and easy to understand.. Buy it and start memorizing it before you start nursing school! :-)

So this is my first year of nursing school, and this book has been my handy pocket book! Super information and its just easier to pull this out than our 12 other books we have. Great buy! Descriptions are amazing. Lots of new terms new students never knew and it gives you the definitions. My favorite part is the ABGs! Good job Mr. Gow and thanks!

A lot of this is common sense, or drilled into your head in later classes, but I can see how this would be useful for a beginning nursing student.

I expected a lot more from this book than what was inside, I thought it would be a book with a lot more information in it. For the price, it is a good book to have to study by at the end of your nursing program

This book captures the ture essense of being a WWII Fighter Pilot. The Author relates his story as if he is speaking to you personally and was a true adventurer at a very early age, his decision to join the RAF came after his heroic actions on a passenger ship that was torpedoed by a u-boat. He does not brag about his exploits but tells what he did and why. The only thing questionable is his description on how a fellow squadron mate " Kidd " Hoffer died in action, he beileved Erich "Bubi" Hartmann shot him down but according to other sources it is now believed "The Kidd" was shot down by AA fire. No one may know for sure but I believe Mr. Goodson is telling what he believes is true to the best of his ability and I enjoy reading about different accounts and perspectives on the same historical events as it shows how different peoples perceptions on the same incident can be different.

I first read this as a teenager. It resonated with me then and still does now. A well written memoir.

Giving it four stars because it wasn’t the full alphabet which I thought it would be

Good quality. Holds up decent when tossed in a bathtub by lunatic toddler. Minimal fading when submerged and no bleeding of colors. Paper is of good stock. Great selection of words. My two year old knew most of them but they were still useful and she had fun with them.

I would've given these five stars because i am really happy with the size and the vibrant colors. However I was disappointed with a few cards that were damaged at the back. My biggest disappointment was that letters were missing. I realized that this wasn't alphabet cards but why put 6 cards with the letter B and leave out the letters I O Q U X and Z???? That's really dumb to me because there were other letters that had more than one card. Remove the extra cards and put in the missing letters. This would be confusing for a child

I love these flash cards for my 1 1/2 year old son. He's just getting into the pictures and words. I love how big these pictures are and it has great colors. It also has the word on the back for when he gets older we can have him just read the words. These will last for years to come. Card are also made well which will last.

I needed a cute, colorful set of alphabet cards for kindergarten. Unfortunately since 3 letters are not even represented, these cards will have limited use. Some letters have a single card, other letters have 6-8 cards. ??? And as I said, some letters are not even there.

Just got 4 new kids in foster care in my home 10, 6, 2 year old and a baby, none know how to read , write, talk etc. starting at very basic stage. Great cards wish they where coated for better durability.

I bought these for our 16 month old. He isn't saying the words yet, but we've used them to teach what the pictures are. Now we hold up two cards or lay 7-8 on the floor and ask him to pick out a certain one. He loves it and hopefully it's helping him with future vocab!

We play with these cards daily. She gets so excited to name all the things displayed on the cards, and has fun putting them back in the box. Some of the pictures are confusing, though. Like the horse is blue..

I wanted more of a brief history and cultural guide for the person who will be there for Avery short time with a full agenda.

I thought this book was going to have more anecdotes about people's stories about growing up/ living in Bangladesh and be more about the culture of the country. Not so much. Its a lot of history, which wasn't what I was looking for. I won't finish reading it.

This is a book to own and read every now and then depending on which time period one wants to focus on at the moment. Hundreds of incredible pieces make this collage a piece of art!
