Critical information is excluded such as good directions on setting up yeast starter. The book covers a paragraph maybe on this do or die element.No indications on how long to ferment or sit your bottles. That I find nuts. I have ot test every week to see if the product has aged enough.There is too much said on taste and not enough on crafting the products. Good recipes though.

Dr Colby has more facts at his fingers than any home brewer I know, and I really enjoy his writing. His experience is evident, and as a result his book will prove a valuable reference for the home brewer. The recipes are a good starting point when experimenting with different styles, and I know I’ll have a lot of fun brewing them.

Loads of great info in addition to the recipes! Easy to read and follow. Brewing tips and techniques are expounded with the different recipes.

Enjoyed the variety of recipes and also some old favorites. Great tips scattered through out. Only criticism is that I would prefer to see all the tips and technics in a single spot to find them again.

Bought for a Christmas gift. Lots of different recipes. I'm sure he'll enjoy it!

I am about 30% into this. This is good for anyone who wants to study The Word and get their geek on. It gives a narrative of OT history, as well as pointing out the parallels with the NT. There is one thing to point out.. asides from being super big/long - as I was beginning my reading, the writer's style took me aback a little. ( The writer was a Jewish scholar who had converted to Christ ) I looked up the info about the author and discovered that this was written in the mid-1800's and he refers to KJV as his scriptural base. While I am reading, I have my NIV close in case the quoted verse is a bit too much. This is not a light read, but if you like to get your theocratic geek on and If you like history . It's a good read! ( I also have my bible atlas close ) ☺

As with all Edersheim's writings this book is excellent. It gives a good broad outline of Old Testament history. If you are looking for a resource that is well written and easy to follow, this will help.This is not a verse by verse commentary, but it does give excellent insight into the background and customs of the Old Testament times and cultures.

I actually own the entire collection from this writer. they are simply put, outstanding for use by the SERIOUS bible student or teacher. This writer was a one time Jew in Judaism and converted and he does a splendid job explaining the connection of the OT to the NT. He gets into the jewish aspects of what Christ did and how they came about from the OT. Get the entire edersheim collection, you won't regret it.

Thorough presentation of the Old Testament by Edersheim. Situations and people explained in language most can understand, although the writing/language used is understandably reflective of the 19th century. He often uses more words and phrases to say something than would be common in the 21st century. Still he obviously has studied not just the Bible but the times in which events occurred, plus other texts and authors from the time periods involved. Because he’s Jewish and converted to Christianity, he brings both perspectives to the task. I feel I’m growing in knowledge about the importance of the events in the Old Testament.

Note that size of this thing. Though it is five volumes, in the Kindle reading app, it is one VERY long document. It does NOT have page numbers, but it's length is 19702, for what that's worth. The author is very devoted to his faith, so there is a lot of language that is devotional in nature. The point is, though it renders the Bible record in something of a story format, I find so much extraneous language that it is hard to get much research value out of it.

This is a book you should have in your library. It is from a point that takes scripture seriously as a primary source of historical information.

Since there is no active table of contents provided, it is suggested that on the initial reading of the text, the reader establish a table of contents with locations in a computer spread-sheet so as to facilitate later readings of this material. Quotes from this entry include:"And so when at last we come to the close of Scripture, we see how the account of the creation and of the first calling of the children of God, which had been recorded in the book of Genesis, has found its full counterpart--its fulfillment--in the book of Revelation, which tells the glories of the second creation, and the perfecting of the Church of God.""It is scarcely possible to imagine a greater contrast than between the heathen accounts of the origin of all things and the scriptural narrative. ...Some have imagined that the six days of creation represent so many periods, rather than literal days, chiefly on the ground of the supposed high antiquity of our globe, and the various great epochs or periods, each terminating in a grand revolution, through which our earth seems to have passed, before coming to its present state, when it became a fit habitation for man. There is, however, no need to resort to any such theory.""Though it needs not such indirect confirmations to convince us of the truth of the narratives in the Bible, it is very remarkable how all historical investigations, when really completed and rightly applied, confirm the exactness of what is recorded in the Holy Scriptures. Its essential principle is to reject all that is not seen, and to cling to that which is temporal.""...if the year of creation be computed at 4004 before Christ, the deluge, which happened 1656 years later, would fall in the year 2348 B.C....the Hebrew text contains the true chronology...This may suffice on a matter which has engaged only too much discussion. It is far more important to think of the kingdom of God, the history of which is given us in the Holy Scriptures; for now we are at the beginning of its real appearance.""For profanity consists in this: for the sensual gratification or amusement of the moment to give up that which is spiritual and unseen; to be careless of that which is holy, so as to snatch the present enjoyment, -- in short, practically not to deem anything holy at all, if it stands in the way of present pleasure.""And in this lies the mystery of Divine Providence, that it always worketh wonders, yet without seeming to work at all -- whence also it so often escapes the observation of men. Edersheim's work is around a century old, and his language now appears a bit dated, but this is still an outstanding book. Edersheim retells the Old Testament story in an interesting and gripping way. His focus is obviously to present the Old Testament events as precursors and types of the New Testament, and he finds numerous links and significances. But even leaving this aspect aside, he makes a compelling story of the Old Testament. Chapter lengths are appropriate to convenient reading. He adds much interesting historical and archaeological background, some of which may well have been re-evaluated by more recent finds, but which still add interest and context to the narrative. As an overview of the Old Testament this is superior to many more recent works in terms of readability, even if you don't always agree with the hidden significances that Edersheim quarries out.

I’m writing this review as I shiver just discovering that the firm I was interviewing gave me the top compensation I was asking for. Your job is to do your job, design, write, code. It’s not getting hired. Too often I saw people who are great at interviewing and job search but suck at actually doing the work. I was on the opposite side of that. I was great at doing my job [architecture] and not so good at communicating my value, I felt I needed a help of a professional but hiring a recruiter seemed too artificial. So I got this book and boy, it worthed a thousand times of its cost. I asked 20% increase to my current job, and got it without any bargains.Don’t waste your time. If you’re looking for a job you owe this book to yourself. Allow at least a week to read it. So if you are shooting out your resumes, that’s the perfect time to get the book.

Best job search and interview prep book hands down. Andy is the real deal. I took his webinars and watched his excellent YouTube videos and they go well with the book. Andy is warm and super helpful in person as well and has a passion for helping job seekers excel to close the gap in the difficult job market. Highly recommended and the book is easy to read and full of good tips. I feel like Andy is my ride along coach there at every step of the way in my journey toward the ultimate job for me.

Began the job hunting process recently after pondering a career change for some time. After more than 9-years of doing the same thing, the idea of even putting a resume together seemed daunting let alone actually interviewing. I ran across Andy's videos on YouTube and after watching a few decided this guy really knows his stuff. If you're serious about getting truly prepared in advance of interviewing this is where to go. Truly helping me prepare rather than simply winging it.

One of the Interview books on the market. Read it, learn it and use it. Also, Mr. Lacivita's YouTube videos are incredibly helpful and work with this book. It only took a brief time to read it, but the skills you learn from it will last a lifetime. Learn to tell your stories and sell yourself first and learn the company second.

You could spend $100 on this book and it would still be well worth the price, yet is it under $12! If you are looking for a job, or just want to learn how the process works - buy this book. It's well written, and full of Andy's lifetime of experience on the hiring process. You will not get a better return on your money than this. I've read this book, and anytime I hear of a friend who is looking for a job, I send them this book. In a very short time, they are hired! I don't think there can be a better endorsement than that.

It gave me a sense of peace eventually and helped me through such a difficult time. In my dog's memory we actually purchased 100 copies of this book and donated them to our local Veterinarian's office for other people who has to say goodbye to their pets too.

This book was ordered as a gift.The book is paperback and has unique, full color photos. The only drawback to this purchase is how few pages the book has,It is very thin. About 32 pages.Would I return this as unsatisfied, no because National Geographic photography is just and absolutely stunning! It will remain here in my home for the children as reference material. If there were 4 or 6 in a gift set pack then it would be suitable to give as a gift...ie Whales, Dolphins, Tropical Fish and Turtles (for instance). The book would've made a fabulous calendar though!I want a dozen if they turn the book into a calendar!!!Superb photography!!!!

As a fourth grade teacher, I'm always looking for books to teach nonfiction. Too often, books look great on the outside and have lots of pictures, but do not have well-written text to use for instruction. This book is a nice bridge between short nonfiction articles and longer format nonfiction. In addition, it includes paragraphs that show a variety of text structures, which will make it a great guided reading book as I teach about text structure.

Fun. My son (2)had a polar express themed birthday so I thought this may be a fun thing to do but actually my older son liked it better(5). He actually asked for it for his birthday. I think he liked the realistic look of the trains but didn’t use the activity book that I got as well he just put it on paper.

It has tons of stickers to say that they are reusable is a stretch. You can re-apply them on the pages provided in the book. After a couple times the stickers don't stick as well and bend out of shape. Suggest it for the bunch of stickers but don't expect to use the stickers more than twice.

Perfect addition to our party favor bags. The kids loved them. Not totally reusable like it says but still a great activity.
