I read this book to practice my German and for that purpose it's good. It's about Lisa who has been abandoned by her husband Leo for his young secretary. Everybody thinks Leo is a jerk and Lisa is so well liked and adored by pretty much everybody it's a little too much. Well, Lisa goes to Mallorca together with her mother in-law (yes, mother in -law) and there her best friend shows up and they fall madly in love, in fact he has never married because he always loved her!! Yes, far fetched, it's kind of ridiculous. Does anyone have a German writer to recommend, with a little more depth then this lady and Kerstin Gier.
This story of a middle aged divorced woman finding happiness in Paradise carries the reader all the way from the misery of separation to new adventures of romance on a resort island. I found the German average easy. Seems to be well written.
Nice summer reading. It takes your mind off the heat, doesn't tax your brain, keeps you interested enough not to want to put it down and leaves you with a smile on your face.
Es ist nicht unbedingt nötig diese Buch zu besitzen. Aber es ist ein nettes Sommerbuch, welches mit Vergnügen zu lesen ist. Eine amüsante Urlaubsgeschichte.
I am not finished, but it is an easy read. Interesting concept, however little far fetched, but definitely quite likeable.
It's funny, easy quick read...Will read it again, glad I bought it..I'm looking for more books from the author maike hempel
